In today's music scene, there are many types of music that vary in style and form. If you need someone to play classic rock, dance, standards, jazz, top forty, or country music, you could hire musicians for each style of music, or you could hire AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL. We are a four or five piece band that features the danceable music of the 50's and 60's. However, AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL plays many styles of music, including songs from The Beatles, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Bette Midler, Gloria Estefan, Carl Perkins, as well as songs from Motown and songs from the big band era. We also play a special stage show featuring one of our members - Paul Presley - called 'Memories of Elvis'. In this special one hour show we recreate many songs that Elvis performed all over the country. Not just an imitation, Paul recreates the warmth and feel of this very special concert setting, something that may never be seen again. You'll soon be dancing and clapping to this upbeat and exciting music! It's something you'll never forget.

AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL has a sound that goes beyond the musicians that are performing the music. We are able to create our big sound thanks to the latest technology in keyboards and sound equipment. Our male and female keyboardists sing lead, our guitarist also sings lead, and our drummer adds backing vocals. A band never sounded so full. And all music is played live, no tapes or sequencers. AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL is a band that is very diverse in its musical content. But that is not where the diversity ends. The band can perform in a variety of settings, ranging from a club to a wedding, private parties, corporate events, charitable fund raisers, or just about any event that needs great music performed by a band that knows how to get a crowd excited and dancing.

The Members

D o u g l a s B a r b i e r o - Keyboards, rhythm guitar, bass guitar, and trumpet, lead and background vocals, composer, lyricist, and arranger. Co-owner of Country Night Publishing. Doug has played in the tri-state area for over sixteen years, including playing keyboards for Vito and the Salutations and The Shirelles. He is the founder of Authorized Personnel. His education includes attending the Juilliard School of Music in Manhattan and Monmouth College, with a BA in music education. He has been playing piano and keyboards for over twenty six years.

D e b b i e B a r b i e r o - Keyboards, percussion, lead and background vocals. Debbie has been playing keyboards for over twenty one years. Debbie studied classical piano and voice at Monmouth College, with a BA in music education. Debbie has been teaching music in Hackettstown, N.J. for nine years.

H a r v e y M i n c h i n - Drums, percussion, keyboards, marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, and guitar, lead and  background vocals, composer and lyricist. Harvey has played drums for over twenty-seven years. He is a graduate of Trenton State College with a BA in music performance.

P a u l P r e s l e y - Lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass, and drums. Lead and background vocals, composer and lyricist. Co-owner of Country Night Publishing. Paul has played all over the country from Madison Square Garden in New York City to the Palamino Club in Hollywood, California, with such artists as Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, and Eric Clapton. Paul has been playing guitar and bass for over twenty-six years.

R i c k y K l i m o w i c z - Lead guitar, rhythm guitar, recording engineer. Ricky performs with the band for jobs that need an extra guitar player.

Authorized Personnel has two complete sound systems. One is a column system that has 1 eighteen inch speaker, 2 fifteen inch speakers, and one horn throw per side. The other speaker system is a satellite system that has 1 fifteen inch speaker and 1 horn throw per side. The eighteen inch speaker can also be used with this system. The power behind two systems are Peavey Amps, one 800, one 400, and one 100 watt amps. There are two EQ's in the system, one for the monitors and the other for the mains. Effects include a Korg SD 3000 three-in-one effect processor and the Alessis Midiverb II effects processor. All microphones are from Shure including SM57's and 58's.

Authorized Personnel is always updating its sound equipment and instrumentation to bring out the finest sound possible to its audiences!

Douglas Barbiero and Paul Presley own and operate a music publishing company called Country Night Publishers.
